Spring 2018, Program Used: Illustrator

I've been doing digital art since Fall of 2015, so I have slowly improved over time. I like to render 2D cartoon art, realistic portraits, and 3D style art, where I tend to give my artworks that feel of being a 3D sculpted character, as seen in many 3D animated movies. I get my inspiration from watching the wonders created by many animators and artists in animated movies. I always achieve that effect in my drawings by mainly using the pen for small details and the airbrush to layer colors, which give it that smooth and three-dimensional effect.

Kinetic Typography

Fall 2018, Program Used: FlipAClip

Having experience since the age of eleven, kinetic typography is something I enjoy doing. The above example was made from scratch by drawing frame-by-frame. I think it gives kinetic typography much more liveliness to it and you can animate to do and move in any ways you desire.

Fall 2018

Last year alone, I learned about the magic of stop motion animation. As a group (Other members were Taylor Guyton and Jennifer Snook), it was our task to create two short stop motion animations. In the first video, I helped move around the shapes to make paper cut-outs come to life, and in the second, it was my task to give the bunny its movement. Both were fun to create and they have helped me come to appreciate an animation style I was never really into before.

Rotoscopes

Spring 2018, Program Used: Photoshop

Fall 2018, Program Used: FlipAClip

As time-consuming as they are, I always enjoy creating a nice rotoscope. I have worked with various programs with rotoscoping. Both examples above are stylistically different due to different ways of working. The first of my examples is a Harry Potter rotoscope, which was made in Photoshop, and a challenge to create due to the challenge of having to use a mouse for drawing. The second example is a rotoscope of Brendon Urie that was made in FlipAClip, which is a program I can easily use right on my drawing tablet, making the overall style much more stable. Either way, I enjoy all styles of rotoscoping.

Coding Experience

Program Used: Komodo Edit

This piece allowed me to develop my skills in coding. This artwork is referenced from the design of one of my original characters for my personal project. I first drew it on graph paper to get a sense of where all the curves and lines were. During the process, most of the points were adjusted to get a more refined and closer look to the character.
